The race takes place on Prater Hauptallee. It will start at 3.30pm at the “ASKÖ Spenadlwiese”. There is also the finish line.

Participation costs € 19 for each runner until 30th of November. Subsequent registrations will cost € 24. Alongside the starting fees, the starting price includes either a Christkind halo or a Santa cap, not forgetting a goodie bag too! And as Christmas is just around the corner, we might just have a surprise or two up our sleeves… € 5 of the starting price is donated to the Sterntalerhof. Late registration fee: € 30 (for registrations on 15th and 16th December)

The race is open to anyone who wants to get moving for a good cause. There is no age limit. Unfortunately prams, wheelchairs and pets can not participate in the Christmas run due the route guidance. We ask for your understanding.

In order to take part, you have to register using the registration tool. You’ll then receive a confirmation email. You need to bring this with you to collect your race number.

You can register for the run online until 11th December 2017. But take note: registration is limited to 2000 runners. If this number is reached before the deadline, registration will be closed early. If starting places are still available after the online registration period, you can also register when the race numbers are given out. Race number collection and late registration will take place on Saturday, 15th December (10am-5pm) at Wemove Running Store (Wien Mitte – The Mall, Landstraße Hauptstraße 1b, 1030 Wien) and on Sunday, 16th December (11am-2pm) ASKÖ Spenadlwiese´s office building.

At the Christmas Run there will be various rankings. For the overall ranking, all times from “Team Weihnachtsmann” and “Team Christkind” will all be added together. An average will then be calculated for each team, and the team with the fastest average time will be crowned victors. There will also be individual rankings for men and women – whether you’re running as a Weihnachtsmann or a Christkind.

The aim of the Vienna Christmas Run is to raise the highest sum possible for a good cause, and to use the money raised to support the Sterntalerhof. Of course, whether you’re running for Team Weihnachtsmann or Team Christkind, you’ll have to give everything for your team.

You can collect your race number on Saturday, 15th December (10am-3pm) at Wemove Running Store (ASKÖ Spenadlwiese´s office building) and on Sunday, 16th December (11am-2pm) from the ASKÖ Spenadlwiese`s office building. All you need to bring is your confirmation of registration that you received after registering online. Finisher bags can be collected after the run at ASKÖ Spenadlwiese`s office building.

You will get your ordered Weihnachtsmann or Christkind costume together with your race number on Saturday, 15th December (10am-3pm) at Wemove Running Store (ASKÖ Spenadlwiese´s office building) and on Sunday, 16th December (11am-2pm) from the ASKÖ Spenadlwiese`s office building.

Of course, no problem. Just bring your friend’s confirmation of registration with you,  then you can pick up their finisher bag too.

Maybe. Starting places are limited to 2000 runners. If there are still free places left over when registration closes, you’ll be able to register on the day of the event.

The four main prizes will be given to the fastest male and the fastest female “Christkind” and Santa Claus of each team.

We come up with something very special for those who can not run that fast. For our run the team spirit counts as well & because the average time of each team is scored, the two female and two male runners of each group, which are closest to the average time of their team, will get a Christmas tree from us! (:

And this is still not enough!

As you know, the “Christkind” and Santa Claus usually bring the presents. On this day, we want to do something good for all the „Christkinder“ and Santa Clauses. Under the winning team, we give away lots of gifts.

Yes, your time will be measured using a chip located on your bib number. This allows us to calculate whether Team Christkind or Team Weihnachtsmann has brought the packages to the finish line the fastest.

You can access your time for the 5 kilometre course at

Unfortunately not. Whether you run or not, your starting fee will go to support the good cause that is the Sterntalerhof.

No, unfortunately that isn’t allowed. Transferring race numbers or changing entrants’ names will not be possible.

Don’t worry, we’re prepared for all eventualities. If someone is injured during the race, there will be paramedics along the course who can help them straight away.

Of course – there will be plenty of place behind the barriers along the Prater Hauptallee for your fans to join in the celebrations.

We offer in the event area on spot a discharge post where you can store your valuables for a service charge of € 1,-. Due the space conditions, we can not accept backpacks or bags. It’s “first come, first serve”.

There is a dressing room for ladies and for gentlemen. A small number of showers will be also available. Unfortunately, the warm water will not last for everyone. If you are planing to take a shower, you should run faster (;

The run will take place whatever the weather. There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing. 😉

There are many parking lots around the Prater.
